You want to be healthy, right?

But maybe you don’t love exercising?

Or your body doesn’t move the way it used to, and you’re not sure how to get started again?

Or perhaps you shy away from the gym because... “Oh lord, lots of people, how does this equipment work or my body work or anything work, ah-get-me-out-of-here”?

You’re not alone.

Caring for a constantly changing body can feel super challenging and defeating, especially if you never received the tools you need. We give you the tools.

Hi, I’m Elizabeth.

I’ve dedicated my life to movement -- as a professional dancer in NYC and as a Pilates teacher helping others live a pain-free life. I believe not only in “breathing deep and getting strong,” but in cultivating a movement experience that serves whatever you’re doing. Whether that’s picking up your kids, walking your dog, going dancing, or working on your feet -- there’s a way of moving that feels good and unique to you. I’m here to help you find it.

Your Body is Your Home.

You’re riding inside the greatest resource you’ll ever know. But I’m willing to bet no one taught you how to use it.

If you’re like most of us, you didn’t get a handbook in high school that said, “Here’s how this thing works.” You’re just supposed to know what’s best for it without anyone teaching you. Right?

But that’s ridiculous.

If someone asked you to make a car run better, you’d want to know what’s inside. Wouldn’t you? And what’s more, you’d want to know how things in one part of the car work with things in another part of the car -- to enjoy a smoother, safer ride. Right?

That’s what it’s like with our breath and our anatomy. When we don’t understand the way our parts and systems work together, we lose time and energy because we’re literally working against ourselves.

What’s worse, we get injured all the time. We start to fear the changing needs of our bodies. Or we develop an overall “allergy” to the exercise that could make us feel better. If we let it.

Thankfully it doesn’t take long to come into alignment with ourselves and tap the resources of our body.

What People Are Saying

“Your constant adaptation of the exercises helped improve my abilities and avoid new physical problems. I’m also not bored or anxious, which is high praise for exercise. I regularly recommend working with you for achievement of better balance, which is a serious issue for all menopausal women. Your calm yet watchful approach to instruction is very appealing, as it is warm yet minus drama!

My back feels more calm and less painful, I have better overall balance, stronger abs, and a greater awareness of the components of movement. This last advantage has become very important as I am struggling to walk again after shattering my ankle. Your comments, exercises and suggested techniques have been invaluable in regaining my locomotion.

It is important to stress that your approach to Pilates is a critical part of a return to full movement from any injury as a supplement to PT which is very focused on a single body part.”

Begin with breath

The next workshop begins May 23, 2021. Feel like you’re languishing? Take the time to rejuvenate and nourish your breath and body.

“But, Elizabeth, why focus on the breath if what I really want is to be able to workout or go to a yoga class without killing my lower back? Or be able to get through a day at my desk or holding my kids (or both!) without my shoulders being in knots? How is the breath going to fix any of that?”

Breath is the foundation of your movement. So whether you’re training to climb the stairs to your bedroom or Mount Kilimanjaro, your breath is step one. Get this and you’ll find you are:

  • more likely to choose movement because it feels good and is nourishing instead of hurts and is stressful

  • able to trust your instincts and keep yourself injury free

  • capable of releasing everyday tension and stress

Then if you’d like more, you can schedule a private session — at a discounted rate — with me online and we can work specifically on what you need!

We’ll cover basic anatomy to break down how the body moves when we breathe. Then we will connect that with Pilates ab work and build into more strength training. I love to draw from different kinds of movements like Pilates, yoga, and weight training along with different stretches. I am certified in mat and equipment Pilates from The Kane School, NYC and I have a 200-hr yoga certification from Kula Yoga Project, NYC.
